The SEAG Pupil Card: What It Is and What to Check
From Friday 9 October 2026 you can download your child's Pupil Card from the SEAG account you registered with. Checking it takes about five minutes. October is a far better month to find a problem than the week of the test.

What the Pupil Card is for
It is your child's ticket in on the day. The passport-style photo you uploaded when you registered appears on the card, and your child brings the card to the Assessment Centre in November. That is how the Centre knows the right child is sitting in the right seat.
That is also why the photo mattered so much at registration. SEAG checked it during verification, along with the name and date of birth against the birth certificate or passport you uploaded.
The five-minute check
Do this the day you download it, with the card and your SEAG account open side by side.
- The photo is clearly your child. Head and shoulders, clear background, nobody else in the picture.
- The name and date of birth match the birth certificate exactly. SEAG's rule is that they must be identical, so "Daniel" and not "Danny", and normal capital letters rather than all capitals.
- The Assessment Centre is the one you meant to pick. SEAG's own notes say some parents have chosen a Centre many miles away by mistake. Better to find out now than on the drive there.
- Your application says "verified" rather than "pending". SEAG only contacts you if there is a problem, so no email is the normal outcome. SEAG also asks parents not to message just to ask when verification will happen.
What you can change now, and what you cannot
After an application is submitted, SEAG lets parents edit things like their address, phone number, email address or the child's primary school.
The Assessment Centre is different. SEAG only allows a change of Centre by making a completely new Pupil Application and then withdrawing the old one, and registration for 2026 closed on 24 September.
The number on the registration: the UPN
Every registered pupil has a Unique Pupil Number. SEAG asks you to quote it in anything you send them. The pupil's name, date of birth and UPN are also printed on the Answer Sheet your child fills in, which is how their answers are matched back to them. Your child does not need to learn it.
Then put it somewhere you will find it
